This is a collection my latest veteran portraits through a corporate commission with Belmont Village Senior Living. I traveled to 24 of their locations, located around the country, and photographed veterans living in their communities. Each photo shoot resulted in a permanent photography gallery.
I have been photographing veterans for over ten years. My project started as a homework assignment while a student at Cal Poly. And that very homework assignment resulted in a coffee table book published with Welcome Books/Rizzoli (subsidiaries of Random House) on my WWII veteran portraits and their stories. The book is called THE LAST GOOD WAR: THE FACES AND VOICES OF WWII and was named nonfiction book of the year in 2010 by the Forewords Review Magazine.
